Job Posting: Youth Programming Coordinator

The Heritage Community Association has an exciting job opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills who enjoys working with youth. We are seeking a Coordinator for our Fall programming, including cooking classes and physical activity programs for youth.

September – December 2016 (16-week contract)
Part-time (average of 12 hours/week)
Wage: $17/hour

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Executive Director, the Youth Programming Coordinator will be expected to:

-Coordinate weekly physical activity programming for youth ages 9-14
-Coordinate weekly cooking classes for youth ages 9-12
-Organize and run children’s activities at the Harvest Moon Festival  on September 24
-Arrange transportation for off-site activities
-Help with program promotion and registration
-Supervise program facilitators
-Keep detailed records for grant reporting and for next year’s staff

Qualities and Skills Sought:

Our ideal candidate will have:

-Strong organizational skills, especially when it comes to scheduling, planning and logistics
-Effective time-management skills and the capacity to work independently
-Experience working with youth of diverse backgrounds, identities and needs
-Solid interpersonal skills and the capacity to connect easily with people of all ages
-Capacity to understand and work within a pre-determined budget
-Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
-Connection to the Heritage Community preferred

The successful candidate must be available:

-Mondays 3:30-5:00pm from Sept. 12 to Dec. 19 (excluding Oct. 10)
-Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm from Sept. 27 to Dec. 13
