Age of our population (2011):

  • 6% is between 0 and 4
  • 9% is between 5 and 14
  • 5% is between 15 and 19
  • 8% is between 20 and 24
  • 36% is between 25 and 44
  • 23% is between 45 and 64
  • 6% is between 65 and 74
  • 7% is over 75 years old
  • Our average age is 33 years; the City average is 37 years

Family Structures (2011):

  • 51% of our community members lives alone; the City average is 30%
  • 30% of our community consists of lone parents; the City average is 19%
  • 43% of individuals aged 15 and older are single (1,930); the City average is 30.2%
  • 25% of individuals aged 15 and older are married (1,155); the City average is 58.8%
  • 11% of individuals aged 15 and older are common-law (520); the City average is 8.2%
  • 11% of individuals aged 15 and older are divorced (490); the City average is 6.2%
  • 7% of individuals aged 15 and older are widowed (320); the City average is 5.7%

From our population:

  • 1,500 residents (58%) use vehicles as the driver
  • 225 residents (9%) use vehicles as the passenger

The average after tax household income is $38,434, this is an increase of 24% from 2006 data ($30,961)

The average gross household income is $43,441, this is a decrease of 3.7% from 2006 data ($45,043)
