On Thanksgiving of 2014, a volunteer crew of Heritage residents went door-to-door offering to plant yellow tulip bulbs in their neighbours’ yards. This was thanks to the successful Good Neighbour Grant application of local resident Adam Smith. He used the funds to purchase roughly 1,500 tulip bulbs from the Netherlands to be planted across the community.
Now, thanks to their efforts, the community will bloom with beautiful yellow tulips each spring. This project not only makes our neighbourhood more lovely but it also unites all neighbours with a shared interest and commonality.
Make sure to send us pictures of tulips you see around the neighbourhood!
